YOUR contribution

Key missions

Within the Risk department of GEMS, the Market Risk main missions are :

  • Definition and translation of risk appetite into well designed set of limits in the Risk mandates;
  • Proactive and constructive challenge of Front Office hedging strategies ensuring we reach an optimal risk/reward ratio in line with risk appetite;
  • Review risk profile and profitability of special deals requesting an Origination Committee validation
  • Alert on limit breaches and monitor effective and timely implementation of hedging decisions including providing concrete advice for remediation;

Role

As a
Market Risk Analyst, you will contribute to the fulfilment of the Market Risk missions with a specific focus on the
Green
Poweractivities of GEMS, incl. services that GEMS provides to the Renewable Global Business Unit (RGBU), in particular you will:
  • Contribute to the Risk Mandates definition of GEMS and RGBU;
  • Proactively challenge in a constructive way hedging strategies that are implemented by portfolio managers;
  • Perform market risk analyses of special deals requesting an Origination Committee validation;
  • Monitor on regular basis compliance with the Risk Mandates of GEMS and RGBU;
  • React to limit breaches and advise on remediation actions;
  • Contribute to the digitalization and automation of the Risk reports to ensure this monitoring;

The Market Risk Analystcan be based in different locations : Brussels/Paris/Rome/Madrid/London/Poland.

About YOU

Hard skills

  • Good understanding of the energy and derivatives markets;
  • You have strong analytical and digital skills;

Soft skills

  • You have strong inter-personal skills to interact with portfolio managers, traders and other team members;

Education and professional background

  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Sciences, IT or similar);
  • 3 years minimum working experience in the energy or finance sector;

Languages

  • You speak English fluently;
